2010 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand - Regularly $11.99
The 2010 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the two largest wine producing locations within the renowned Marlborough region - 61% Awatere Valley, 39% Wairau Valley. The Wairaw Valley is the larger of the two valleys with gravelly river stone soils that produce grapes with tropical, vibrant fruit flavors. Awatere Valley has vines growing on gently rolling hills or along the river giving them a cooler, windier and drier growing season. The grapes grown here have a greater minerality and higher acid level.
“Lip-smacking, with a mouthwatering acidity that gives a wonderful freshness to the pineapple, melon, peach and ripe mango flavors. Persists on the long finish. Drink now" - 89 points, Wine Spectator
2010 Bianchi Signature Selection Chardonnay, Santa Barbara - Regularly $16.99
“This reminds me of a village Puligny-Montrachet with bright acidity and plenty of minerality, apple pie and chalk character. Full yet very racy and crisp. ” – James Suckling.
For those of you who have already enjoyed Bianchi Chardonnay in previous vintages, you won’t want to miss the 2010 – it’s incredible! To heighten the tropical/stone fruit flavors in this Chardonnay while retaining the traditional rich mouth-feel and long finish, Winemaker Tom Lane added 12% Los Alamos Vineyard grapes to the El Camino Vineyard grapes he typically uses and minimized the oak aging. The 2010 is so beautifully balanced between the buttery creaminess, stone fruit, and minerality that it will appeal to almost everyone!
NV Austin Hope Troublemaker, Paso Robles - Regularly $16.99
The Austin Hope Family of wines - Treana, Candor, Austin Hope, Liberty School – also includes this wine that was inspired by wines from the Southern Rhone. It showcases multiple vintages, Rhône varietals and some of the best fruit Paso Robles has to offer. This blend of 73% Syrah, 12% Grenache, 7% MourveÌdre, and 8% Petite Sirah shows complexity, with an amazing depth and structure, bright fruit and a long finish.
2009 Chono Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile - Regularly $12.99
Geo Wines was founded 12 years ago. They make three tiers of wine, including Chono. The Chono wines are produced according to the principles of organic and bio-dynamic viticulture, sourcing grapes from the varietals’ best growing area. The name CHONO refers to the brave indigenous people that lived in the fiords of the Chilean Patagonia in pre-hispanic times until the XVIII century. The Maipu Valley is especially well-suited to full-bodied and balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. This full-bodied yet perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon is vibrant and rich on the palate, with soft tannins yet good texture. Flavors of red berries and black raspberries are lush and the finish offers a touch of spice and smoke.
